Brad Pitt
Brad Pitt was born in Oklahoma and raised in Springfield, Missouri. His mother's name is Jane. In high school Pitt was involved in sports, debating, student government and school musicals. His father, Bill, worked in management at a trucking firm in Springfield. Pitt attended the University of Missouri where he majored in journalism with a focus on advertising. He occasionally acted in fraternity shows. He left college two credits short of graduating to move to California. Before he became successful at acting, Pitt supported himself by driving strippers in limos, moving refrigerators and dressing as a giant chicken while working for "el Pollo Loco". Pitt's first starring role in a feature film was in Dark Side of the Sun, The (1997) shot in pre-war Yugoslavia during the summer of 1988. As editing neared completion civil war tore apart the region and much of the footage was lost. In 1996, after a five-year search, all of the lost footage was found and returned to producer Angelo Arandjelovic, who is currently working on getting a distribution deal for the film. Pitt was paid $1,523 per week for seven weeks. He played a young American taken by his family to the Adriatic Sea to search for a cure for a rare skin disease. In 1996 purchased a mansion is southern California from the actress who portrays "Elvira" (Cassandra Peterson). He reportedly paid $1.7 million for the house. The name Phillips is from his step father. He plays with the group, "The Pipefitters with Lou Diamond Phillips". Is named for Gunnery Sergeant Lou Diamond, USMC. Has been criticized for portraying Native American roles since he is only 1/8 Cherokee. Was considered for the role of Agent John Dogget on The X-Files (1993). His wife gave birth to his third daughter, Lili Jordan, on 26 September 1999 in L.A. They also have twins, Grace and Isabella, born 5 October 1997. First wife, Julie Cypher, left him for rocker Melissa Etheridge. Is of Spanish, Scotch/Irish, Chinese, Filipino, Hawaiin, and Cherokee ancestry. Before making a name for himself as the ill-fated teenage rock star Ritchie Valens in La Bamba (1987), this striking, almond-eyed actor cowrote and starred in the little-known Trespasses (1983). Good movies have been few and far between for this earnest young performer (who's part Cherokee, part Hawaiian, part Chinese, part Spanish and part Scotch-Irish!), but he never seems to stop working. Highlights include Stand and Deliver (1988, as a gang leader inspired by a great teacher), Young Guns (1988), Young Guns II (1990), and A Show of Force (1990, a Puerto Rico-based political thriller which gave him one of his best roles).
